I visited this facility

I visited Atria at Hometown in North Richland Hills. I found it acceptable in every way. I chose a one-bedroom with a balcony. It was clean. The space is smaller than what I'm moving out of, but then it suited my needs. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They have an exercise room and another room for just seated exercises and such.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My wife is in Emerald Hills for rehab. When she gets out of rehab, she will stay there because it is a skilled nursing facility, which she needs. We're in there every day. They seem very qualified. They are very compassionate and very easy with the residents. They seem to really be taking good care of her. The rehab is going well, and the doctor is seeing her every day. So far, it's been great. She's only been there three weeks. She's in a shared room now that she's in rehab. When she's finished with rehab, I think she'll probably stay in the room she's in. There are social things there. They have a large van, and they take the residents who can go out. I think they do a lot of activities with them. I know there's a lot of interaction among the nurses and my wife -- more than just taking care of her, talking to her, and things like that. When you visit, you have to have a valid COVID test. You could only have one visit a day, and you had to be on the caregiver list, but they just relaxed some of those restrictions now. They said you didn't need the COVID test anymore. We've been very pleased. The staff is great. The place is divided into short halls, and there are probably eight-to-ten rooms down each hall. They have a COVID isolation ward, and they control that pretty tightly. The price is comparable to the assisted living where she was before.

I went to The Wellington at North Richland Hills. I loved it, it was very nice, everything was topnotch, but just the cost of it was a little bit too much, and they didn't have any promotions. That's a beautiful place. The person who accommodated me was wonderful, showed me around, and was very informative. For that day, they had the tenant at church, they were singing, there was bible study, it was really nice, and they seemed happy.

We have been to The Wellington at North Richland Hills. It was very nice. Everything was fine. The only thing for Mom was that it's so far away. It's about 30 minutes away from where Mom lives and she still expects friends to come and visit her. The distance is the only thing she had to complain about it. The Wellington at North Richland Hills was wonderful. It was nice, but the appearance didn't appeal to Mom. We had a very nice tour. We were invited for a small lunch, and they showed us around the activities. It's awesome. It's very, very nice. We saw the library and the activity room, too.

I am/was a resident of this facility

All the employees are very helpful. There are lots of activities that keep you physical and mental fit. I've lived I guess 6 years now, and I do appreciate living here and the help that they give me and the care. I really do.

I visited this facility

I have to think about my son because he has special needs. Although he would be just visiting, I still have to make sure that he is well accommodated when he comes to visit. Meadow Lakes was very nice. The lady who gave me the tour was very nice. It seemed like a peaceful place. I like the atmosphere, and I like the dining procedure. I just like it; it was really nice. However, the room was too small and it was on the second floor. I won't get a place on the second floor with my son because that's dangerous. I need something that would be safer. The place was great but it just didn't fit what I needed. The staff members were good, very nice and very kind. She toured me through everything.

The Wellington at North Richland Hills was old, dark, and sad. The receptionist was also elderly. The activity director who gave the tour wasn't the normal marketing person, but she was lovely. It had short ceilings, little hallways, and everything was dark and small, and the clientele and the community itself was much older than any place else I found. The rooms seemed smaller and darker. You didn't get to order off the menu, and the food choices were very limited. It was the same price or more than what we found, and it was upsetting. With the same money, you're getting a terrible old place.

We got my mom situated at the Wellington, and she's been there a month now. The experience has been very good, the living condition is very clean, and the food is good. She has a 1-basic room, with a living room, a little kitchen, a bathroom, and a closet. It's perfectly adequate for her. The staff is friendly. She plays Bingo and they have church services on Sunday.

Everything at Meadow Lakes was very good. The tour was nice, but the prices are way above what we can afford. They include the assisted living cost with meals and housekeeping, however, those are the things that I'm not looking for. The staff member who assisted me was very friendly and very knowledgeable. She has been there for a long time and she knew everything about the community. They have a whole calendar of activities. They have game night, exercising, and social activities.
