A senior’s individual benefit is determined by subtracting their monthly countable income from the maximum benefit. Therefore, a senior needs to earn less than $1,228 per month to participate.

The Surry County Senior Center offers free and low-cost activities for local seniors. Its schedule includes yoga, line dancing and scrapbooking. Seniors can drop in any time during the center’s open hours to watch TV, play board games or play cards.
